"I will never understand and forgive ""engineers"" who choose some technology ""just because."" Just because I read about it in some really cool tech blog. Just because I heard about it at some conference from a cool speaker. Just because I want to try it. Just because everyone else is using it. Just because it has a fancy name. Just because it’s the latest trend. Just because it was recommended by a friend. Just because it seems popular on social media. Just because it __promises__ to solve __this__ problems. It is a selfish, irresponsible, immature, and purely egotistic way of making decisions. For a minute - architectural decisions that can and do have colossal consequences. In the best case, it will require time and mental efforts of other engineers to fix this up, if it is even possible to fix. In the worst case, it might lead to financial and other losses. But the money is not ""yours,"" right? Damn."
